Working around the festive and environmental calendar of the seasons give us a year-round framework for events and other activities.
On the first Saturday of the month the town square in Huntly plays host to the Farmers' Market. The market was set up to support local businesses, providing them with a low cost opportunity to sell their produce. Believing that the area has a wealth of excellent food producers and craft makers, the market aims to encourage people to buy locally, to reduce food miles and support the area's economy.
At each Farmers' Market we set up our Seasonal Cafe where we attempt to create a platform for the sharing of skills and knowledge and an opportunity for folk to sit down and have a chat while they shop. In response to season and what is available locally, each market we try to share a new skill, highlight a particular recipe or create an opportunity for discussion of a particular topic.
Join us on the first Saturday of the month in the square. Keep an eye on the website and social media for details of what we are up to each market.
