Released in 2017, this film explores the work, perspective and lasting social impact of visionary artist Joseph Beuys.

Beuys. The man with the hat, the felt and the fat corner. 30 years after his death, he appears to us as a visionary who was ahead of his time. Patiently he tried to explain even then that “money must not be a commodity”. He knew that the money market would undermine democracy. But more than that. Beuys boxes, parodies, lectures and explains the art to the dead hare. Do you want to make a revolution without laughing? he asks - and laughs. His expanded concept of art took him right to the heart of today’s relevant social debates.

This film is being screened as part of Fokus film festival in partnership with the Goethe Institute.

Joseph Beuys' work and philosophy has influenced many core elements of Deveron Projects over the years, including informing our living monument to peace, the White Wood.
