Lunchtime Talk: James Dyas Davidson
Fri 20 May, 1pm, Deveron Arts Office
Abandoned communities of the North East
James Dyas Davidson will join us to discuss his photography practice and inspiration. Based near Tarland, James became interested in the history of the local area, finding particular focus in abandoned communities. James' photographs show houses, schools and other derelict structures, capturing their current unkept state and alluding to possible histories.
"To stand at the kitchen window of an abandoned cottage and consider the joys, the hardships, the sadness and the life of the folk who once lived there motivated me to try to find out more and keep their memories alive." - James Dyas Davidson
