Paul Anderson's Hielan' Symphony
Sat 20 June, 7.30 pm Deeside Theatre, Aboyne
Recital of the Hielan' Symphony
Paul Anderson will perform the complete Hielan' symphony, the first ever symphony written for Scottish music with a full orchestra for the first time. Inspired by the Hielan' Ways routes near his home in Tarland, Paul Anderson has composed a symphony based on the history and culture of the drovers and people of the area. The performance with the Deeside Orchestra will be accompanied by new photos of the routes taken by local photographer Anke Addy. Paul will give some background to his inspiration as well as performing other pieces of his original work with his wife, Shona Donaldson.
In collaboration with the Deeside Orchestra. Bookings through the Aboyne and Deeside Festival website.
