Make Poverty History

On Saturday 2nd July 2005 over 225,000 people took to the streets of Edinburgh to call on world leaders to act at the G8 summit, meeting shortly after at Gleneagles, to end world poverty. Most people on the march wore white as they walked the circular route so that they formed a giant white band through the streets of the capital (a white band worn around the wrist being the symbol of the Make Poverty History campaign).
