Hamish Fulton

21 Days in the Cairngorms, 2010

Huntly Carpet Centre, The Square

Text and tea stain on paper

British walking artist Hamish Fulton advocates for walking as an artform in its own right, translating or documenting his walks in text, photography and illustration. In April 2010, Fulton took a 21 day hike from Huntly Town Square through the Cairngorms National Park, one of the most inhospitable places in the UK, to Glenmore Lodge, Aviemore. This resultant piece, on display at Huntly Carpet Centre, documents the experience he had whilst wandering for the 21 days.
