Come along to a new weekly film club and join us in watching experimental, alternative and artist-made films.
 Exploring how film can reveal, provoke and reflect the past, present and future, the film club will be a home for film in its broadest sense - from humorous critiques of historical narratives to careful documentaries, tongue-in-cheek romances, to films challenging traditional filmmaking practices, and many more.
 Each week’s programme will be responsive to the week before – building from the conversation, reflections, suggestions and interests of everyone who joins in. The first film club will share artists’ films by current artist-in-residence at Deveron Projects, Bojan Fajfrić, alongside Yugoslav experimental films from the 60s and 70s. This will include Greetings from Kosovo 1989, a short film by Bojan that reframes and subverts TV footage of an infamous speech by the president of Serbia, Slobodan Milošević, made amid rising ethnic tensions in Kosovo and growing political unrest in Yugoslavia. We will also watch Unfinished Business, a film featuring Bojan’s father as an artist, ‘intensely resisting his last days by remaking fragments of his life’. Bojan will select other short films that respond, connect and inspire his work.
 No knowledge or experience of films, filmmaking or the subjects covered is required to join in – this is a relaxed screening with space for questions and curiosity.
