Art Road Trip: Skyscapes - Light & Time

Inspired by the paintings in the National Gallery collections, this workshop will consider the changing nature of the skyscape. How does the movement of clouds in the sky affect the light in and on the landscape and our relationship with it? How have artists used the clouds to evoke a sense of the movement and the passage of time?

Led by the National Gallery facilitators, in this workshop we will learn how to make drawings and prints of the sky using experimental techniques. Exploring mark making with charcoal we will make observations of clouds and the sky, before transferring these drawings to gelli prints and adding additional colours and layering on top.
