Being Social

Being Social, was an online discussion exploring the future of socially engaged arts.
Moderated by artist/lecturer Anthony Schrag (Scot/Canada), the evening featured artists Suzanne Lacy (USA), Babak Fakhamzadeh (Iran/Brazil) and Claudia Zeiske (Director, Deveron Projects) among the contributors exploring this urgent topic. The discussion was guided by such questions as:
How can we deliver socially engaged arts projects when we cannot meet each other face to face?
What are the possibilities beyond the digital and what opportunities does the digital offer us?What are the relationships with locality and the community we are working with?
How can issues surrounding justice, rights and politics be heard by the crowds? Is social engagement possible during lockdown? Read the resource list of topics discussed during the event.  In collaboration with Queen Margaret UniversityPhoto Credit: May Murad - Walking without Walls
