Caretakers' Garden: Getting Started with Undercover Crops
Feeling helpless in the face of food price inflation? Growing some of your own favourite summer foods could help you feel more in control, while also being an enjoyable and empowering experience. We were inviting everyone - whether they had a greenhouse, polytunnel or just a windowsill; whether they were beginners or just fancy a sociable morning doing some table top sowing with a group of gardening enthusiasts - to get a head start by planting indoors can lengthen the vegetable growing season and widen the range of fruits and vegetables that can be grown here in the North East of Scotland. All were welcome to try growing their own tomatoes, chilies, cucumbers and more undercover with the guidance and support of experienced gardener Lindy Young.
