Taking cuttings from your perennials, shrubs, climbers and even some trees offers a range of benefits, including new (free) plants, increased plant resilience and easier propagation over growing from seed.

At this workshop, supervised by our gardener in residence, Lindy Young, we learned this frugal and effective technique for multiplying the plants in your garden. Exploring hard wood, soft wood and green wood cuttings, Lindy demonstrated techniques before supporting participants to have a go at taking cuttings from established plants in the Brander Garden, to take home and propagate.
 Through taking cuttings we can make endless plants for our gardens, containers, public spaces and to share with others in the community.
