February Farmers' Market
Our first market of the year came around, and turned our stall into a makeshift movie theatre… welcome to the Eurotelevison Cinema!
We were thinking about the two years that have passed since Britain left the EU on 31st January 2020. In Huntly, the date also marks the first planting of the Weeping Willow Tree as part of Clemens Wilhelms’ project and to mark it, we were screening a local premiere of Clemens and filmmaker Jan Martinec’s film The Brexit Tree, which follows the story of the project and the impact of Brexit around the town, the country and the continent. We had popcorn ready (sweet or salty of course!) and anybody could step into the Eurotelevision Cinema to catch themselves on the silver screen, and to chat about how we are faring a post-Brexit town and country.
After the market, we took a wander to the Weeping Willow Tree.
The Weeping Willow Tree is located on the banks of the River Deveron, and is fully accessible via well maintained tarmacked paths.
