Food Chain: Yunnan rice noodle salad
Food Chain is a monthly community-led cookery workshop, celebrating the diversity of cultures and cuisines within our local communities. It's an informal, fun and friendly event, in which a member of our local community in Huntly shares a recipe that means something to them and reminds them of home. Once we have cooked the dish, we will sit and enjoy eating it together. Anyone is welcome to join in, but please book your space as these events are popular!
For this month’s Food Chain, Deveron Projects artist in residence Keng Keng Tang will be sharing their recipe for springy and zingy Yunnan rice noodle salad to celebrate the start of Spring. This gluten free and vegan dish is a classic and nutritious comfort street food made by aunties all over Yunnan and loved by Yunnanese people all over the world. It combines a selection of crunchy vegetables, herbs, noodles and a delicious flavourful dressing.
During their time in Huntly, Keng Keng is exploring how mutual care and rest can be embodied and facilitated by a community through the processes of quilt making. For more information about Keng Keng and their community quilt project click here.

About the Home Programme
This event is part of our HOME Programme. Through regular events and artists’ residencies, HOME supports the everyday and creative practices of cooking and eating, chatting and caring, sharing skills and learning together. HOME regular events include Friday Lunch, as well as the monthly Food Chain and a stall at the Huntly Farmers' Market. These events celebrate local knowledge and experiences, and explore what it's like to live and work in and around Huntly. Through this work we aim to build more complex understandings of Huntly and its place in the world. If you'd like to contribute to the HOME Programme, or know someone who you'd love to hear from, then get in touch with us on: info@deveron-projects.com.
