26 September 2025, 2pm – 3pm, Square Deal
Friday Lunch: Home
Join us for our regular community lunch and talk on Friday 26 September, 1-2pm, in Square Deal community hub.
This time we are looking forward to welcoming artist-in-residence at Deveron Projects, Ashanti Harris, who will share an insight into her artwork and research. Ashanti is starting a long-term project with us, delving into the interconnections between land, energy, colonial histories/presents and grief.
Friday Lunch this week will take place tomorrow 1-2pm on Friday 26 September in Square Deal. This time we are exploring what ‘home’ means with Deveron Projects’ co-producer Bruce Phillips. Friday Lunch has long been part of what we call the Home Programme, which celebrates everyday and creative practices of cooking and eating, chatting and caring, sharing skills and learning together.
Bruce will be inviting us to delve deeper into ideas of home through his experience of living in Aotearoa New Zealand, and reflecting on recent events in the UK concerning nationalism, immigration and the housing crisis.
Lunch will be vegetable soup with crusty bread or g/f oatcakes.
