Friday Lunch: Richard Raggett

Can poetry which is 3000 years old have any relevance today? Richard Raggett explored why he thinks so at this Friday Lunch. Richard is a Quaker activist and former pensions administrator who lives outside Huntly, and he encountered epic poems when he studied Latin and Greek at university. He's been revisiting works such as Homer's Iliad and the Odyssey in his retirement, along with modern poetry inspired by these, and finding beauty, power and connection with the challenges of our world today. Come along for a talk and discussion about the power of words across millennia!Lunch: spiced carrot & lentil soup, banana bread
