Friday Lunch: Suriashi - marche féminine: an interventionist practice in urban spaces

We are very sorry to announce that our speaker can't be here for this Friday Lunch. But, if you still fancy lunch and a chat with us, you're welcome to join us at 1pm in the Deveron Projects kitchen!

Suriashi- marche féminine is a practice-led artistic research PhD-project in which Ami Skanberg Dahlstedt, a Swedish female dance theatre performer, investigate how we can analyse and perform one specific gender-codified technique from traditional Japanese dance and theatre as an attempt to challenge ourselves, and the cultural and political boundaries in our society. This very specific and gender-codified technique is called suriashi, which means sliding feet in Japanese.
