Hairst Farmer's Market

Neep & Okra at Home

The Neep & Okra team will be present at the Farmers Market showcasing their latest project, 'Neep & Okra at Home'.
These recipe boxes include portioned out herbs and spices needed to cook an exciting meal with a twist, to encourage you to try new ingredients and flavour combinations. We hope this inspiration will encourage you to try new dishes, some of which were previously available at the cafe, whilst supporting local business by buying the meat and fresh veg. The 'Neep & Okra at Home' recipe boxes will be available on a weekly basis and can be ordered on the Neep & Okra website.

Hairst Loaf

During the Farmers Market, Kate our Artisan Baker will be demonstrating how to make delicious sourdough bread. She will also supply free DIY bread bags, for those wishing to make bread at home, which include a bag of local flour, a sourdough starter and recipe.
The socially distanced sessions will run for 15 minutes each, at 10:30, 11:30 and 12:30.
The 10:30 session will be live streamed on the Huntly Hairst FB page.

For one time only, a unique Hairst loaf will be available to purchase, by donation, from the Honesty Shop outside Squaredeal.

Spiced Up Stovies

Even though the Hairst isn't going ahead this year The Deveron Projects resident chef Kawther Luay has produced a video of how to make Spiced up Stovies, just in case you want to start training for the 2021 World Stovies Championships! The video will be available on the Huntly Hairst FB page on Sat 5th Sep.

Happy Cooking!
