1 April 2026, 7pm – 8:30pm, Square Deal
It's Not That Radical
Beginning: Wednesday 28 January
Middle: Wednesday 11 March
End: Wednesday 1 April
Soft start: 6 – 6:15pm
End: 7:30pm
Over three evenings, you are warmly invited to join in exploring ideas and provocations from the bestselling book, It’s Not That Radical: Climate Action to Transform our World by Mikaela Loach. Hosted by Ashanti Harris, artist-in-residence at Deveron Projects, each evening will offer accessible, critical conversation and learning about climate breakdown and how it is connected to capitalism’s systems of repression.
With a focus on actively creating hope, the book sets out to challenge dominant narratives and perceptions of climate action. Instead it shows why we need to improve current systems and ‘radically’ remake our world anew, offering practical suggestions for doing so. Each evening Ashanti will weave together readings from the book with other practices, ideas, resources and ways of learning together, supporting us to reimagine what’s possible when we organise together.
You do not need to read the book to join in with these events. All materials are provided. You don’t need to have experience or knowledge of climate action either. Anyone who is interested is welcome to come along.
