Kids' Poetry Competition
We're inviting kids - and the young at heart - to write poems about food. It might be how much you like to slurp your favourite soup, about getting in a tangle with spaghetti, or the joys of baking your own bread. From a sombre eulogy about the vegetables in the stir-fry you just ate, to a rousing homage to Burns’ Address to a Haggis (maybe an address to your gran’s stovies?) to a love poem to your favourite funcy piece - anything goes!
Sweet, savoury, sour, salty, bitter, fragrant - we love it all. Poems can take any form, from haiku, a sonnet, a limerick, or any form of free verse. The richer, stinkier, crunchier and more colourful the better. Send us your scrumptious verse!
Poems should be emailed to neep-okra@deveron-projects.com by 10am on Monday 20 April. Please include the poet's name, age and approximate location (eg Rosy, age 8, Huntly) so we can credit the right person if we read yours out.
Winning poems will be recited/performed at the Alphabet Soup online event, Tuesday 21 April, 1-3pm.
