March Farmers' Market 2023
Our Farmers' Market stall is a part of the Home Programme here at Deveron Projects, a regular series of events that celebrate, platform and prompt local knowledge and discussion. The events are not so dissimilar from the Mutual Improvement Societies that made up a key part of 19th century life in the North East, and for this market we're taking inspiration from this radical self-organised learning that continues to have impact on the cultures in Huntly today. Do you know someone you want to hear from at our Friday Lunch and talk event, or would like to learn about a particular topic at our Farmers' Market stall? Or, perhaps you or someone you know has a delicious recipe that you'd like to share at our monthly Food Chain cookery workshop? At this Farmers' Market, we were inviting everyone to pop their nominations into our drop box and find out more about the Home Programme over a cuppa!
If you have someone in mind you would like to hear from, you can also give us a shout at info@deveron-projects.com. About our Farmers' Market stall
On the first Saturday of every month, Huntly Square is filled with local producers and organisations for our town's Farmers' Market, including a stall from us! Swing by for activities that are there to ask questions and get people talking about goings on local to global, always alongside tea. You can find out about the other stalls at the market, including honey, cheese, bread and fish, at the Huntly Farmers' Market facebook page. We don't organise the Huntly Farmers' Market, so if you're keen to know about the wider running of the market, give them a message on facebook! Home ProgrammeThis event is part of the Home Programme, a series of regular community events taking place at Deveron Projects programmed by our Art & Community Worker. The Home Programme celebrates local knowledge and experience, and explores what it's like to live and work in and around Huntly. It includes Friday Lunch, as well as the monthly Food Chain cookery workshop, and a stall at the Huntly Farmers' Market. If you'd like to contribute to the Home Programme, or know someone who you'd love to hear from, then get in touch with our Art & Community Worker Jess on jess@deveron-projects.com.
