November Farmer's Market

Our November Farmer's Market stall shared resources and activities in solidarity with Palestine. Since 2007, more than 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza have lived in under an Israeli land, air and sea blockade. Over 10,000 civilians, including more than 4000 children, have been killed by Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip since 7th October, and the number continues to rise. The UK government has supported these atrocities, sending weapons, turning a blind eye to war crimes and refusing to call for a ceasefire. We made badges and wrote postcards to our political representatives and to workers at Scottish arms factories, urging them to take action toward an immediate ceasefire, the release and increase of humanitarian aid to Palestinian people and an end to its ongoing occupation.Over the years, Deveron Projects has hosted and worked with artists and partners from all over the world. The projects created have linked Huntly with global experiences and issues, showing how we are interconnected with other people and places. Many artists have made artworks in support of global justice movements, including the liberation of Palestine from 75 years’ occupation by Israel. Like then, Deveron Projects stands with Palestine now. We believe that being pro-Palestine and against anti-Semitism go hand in hand, because all systems of oppression reinforce one another, and cannot be fought in isolation.
