Singing Badly, Singing Radically

Poster for singing badly singing radically

This workshop is for anyone who sings. In the shower - in the car - to your children at night - in private - while working. Anyone who sings or would like to sing, but has never felt ‘good enough’ to sing with others.

Come along to raise your voice with other bad singers in beautifully out-of-tune songs, chants and vocal exercises. The workshop will be led by enthusiastic amateur singer and artist-in-residence Rah Naqvi, who will lead us through simple and fun exercises exploring the potentials of singing badly and singing radically for creating connection, telling our own stories and building solidarity.

Singing Badly, Singing Radically, is taking place as part of Rah’s residency at Deveron Projects. Their residency is focused on building communities through song, land-based music, traditional crafts, radical readings and gossip. Rah has been exploring bothy-ballads, traditional cultures and songs from the north-east and is asking, what stories need to be told through song now? You can find out more about Rah's residency here.

This workshop is free but booking is required. You can book online here, phone Deveron Projects on 01466 794494 or drop by the office behind Huntly Library.
