Deveron Projects

The Town Is The Venue
What have walking and food got to do with art? What have walking and food got to do with art?

What If? at the Goethe Institut

Thu 27 July, Goethe Institut, Glasgow

Screening and Talk with Manaf Halbouni

See a screening of What If?Manaf’s play created with resettled Syrian refugees and Huntly residents, showing a meeting between two representatives planning the split, followed by an Artist Talk.

The Sykes-Picot Agreement, 1916, involved the drawing of borderlines in the Middle East by French and British diplomats. Consequences of the deal are felt heavily a century later, but what if there was a different history? Manaf Halbouni is working with Deveron Projects in Huntly to create an alternative timeline, fictionalising a world where the Ottoman Empire and United States of Arabia split Europe instead.

Hosted by the Goethe Institut, see their website for more details.
