Deveron Projects at Huntly Farmer's Market
Deveron Projects at Huntly Farmer's Market
1 / 2

Come and find our stall at the monthly Huntly Farmers’ Market for free activities and a hot cuppa. This month we will be set up outside Square Deal community hub for storytelling and zinemaking, as we celebrate the new Community Quilt created through artist Keng Keng Tang's residency with Deveron Projects.

Throughout the morning, stitch together zines* with gathered fabric, prompts and guides for quilting, resting, and community building. At 10:30am, 11:30am and 12:30pm, cosy up under the community quilt with invitations to nap from artist Keng Keng Tang and stories of community and generosity from storyteller Nana Tomova.

This event is free and open to everyone, no booking required. All materials are provided.

* A zine is a small-scale, DIY pamphlet or booklet that is self-published

The morning’s activities will be followed by an afternoon of music and dancing, from 2.30-4pm in Square Deal, booking required. Find out more about this event here

About the Stall

Huntly is a former market town, to which people have long travelled to buy, sell and trade. Markets are equally important for connecting with others, sharing news, organising and celebrating together. Deveron Projects’ stall at Huntly Farmers’ Market contributes to these roots by sharing  free activities, initiatives and artist projects that explore and hold space for the vital social role of marketplaces.

Each month we share aspects of our work through family-friendly activities and conversation on our stall. From artist’s projects, to our community hub or gardens, local issues to international connections, and much more, drop by to learn what’s going on, to share your perspectives and opinions, and get involved with Deveron Projects.

About the Home Programme

This event is part of our HOME programme. Through regular events and artists’ residencies, HOME supports the everyday and creative practices of cooking and eating, chatting and caring, sharing skills and learning together. HOME regular events include Friday Lunch, as well as the monthly Food Chain and a stall at the Huntly Farmers' Market. These events celebrate local knowledge and experiences, and explore what it's like to live and work in and around Huntly. Through this work we aim to build more complex understandings of Huntly and its place in the world.

If you'd like to contribute to the HOME programme, or know someone who you'd love to hear from, then get in touch with us on: info@deveron-projects.com.
