Friday Lunch: Artist Talk

1 / 3

Join us for a talk by artist Jane Skeer, who is with us for a month as part of the 2026 RSA Residencies for Scotland scheme. Jane is a Glasgow-based artist from Australia whose practice spans, sculpture, installation, social engagement, photography and writing that seeks to embody place-based narratives. For Friday Lunch Jane will introduce her practice and talk about a letter writing artwork she is developing for an upcoming exhibition at Strangefield in Glasgow.

RSA Residencies for Scotland is a residency programme led by the Royal Scottish Academy (RSA) that provides research and development opportunities for visual artists. It forges important networks with centres of artistic excellence across Scotland, ranging from traditional residency venues to specialised production facilities. Deveron Projects is one of 19 organisations across Scotland taking part. The programme is administered and funded by the RSA, with kind support from the Wilhelmina Barns-Graham Trust and the RSA W. Gordon Smith & Jay Gordonsmith Trust.

Lunch will be dhal and rice (vegan and gluten free). Come along to hear about Jane’s practice and enjoy a free tasty meal – no booking required just turn up.

About the HOME Programme

This event is part of our HOME Programme. Through regular events and artists’ residencies, HOME supports the everyday and creative practices of cooking and eating, chatting and caring, sharing skills and learning together. HOME regular events include Friday Lunch, as well as the monthly Food Chain cookery workshop and a stall at the Huntly Farmers' Market. These events celebrate local knowledge and experiences, and explore what it's like to live and work in and around Huntly. Through this work we aim to build more complex understandings of Huntly and its place in the world. If you'd like to contribute to the HOME Programme, or know someone who you'd love to hear from, then get in touch with us on: info@deveron-projects.com.
